Two years ago, in June, I saw this parade for the first time in Guatemala City. It was a joyful atmosphere, full of music, colorful costumes, laughter and hugs.
This year, Sexta Avenida is still crowded. The smiles and the brightness remain. I stand on the sidelines and watch with an indescribable feeling in my heart. I hope it’s not just on this night, in this parade, that they can walk proudly and be themselves.
